Jaycen - Day#10

October 31st (Friday), today is Jaycen's first halloween! We bought him a cute little ghost onesie for him to wear, and bought him a little toy bee or his first halloween present. He looked so cute!! Me, Scott, and Mikylee went and visited with him for the morning, and then we headed home at 2:00 p.m. so Mikylee could go trick or treating. Today his feedings were 15 ml out of 48 ml. 8 ml out of 48 ml, and 33 ml out of 48 ml. And his weight was 5 lbs 12 ounces.
(AND YES, I know the pictures of Mikylee is blurry on her halloween page, I am going to fix it soon!)

Jaycen - Day#9

October 30th (Thursday), still in salt lake with my parents (My mom had to go get eye surgery in provo today, and came back to SLC when she was done). Mikylee went to her Aunt Becky's house and played with Anya and Josy for a little while so Scott and I could go visit Jaycen. Today my mom and dad got to hold Jaycen for the first time which was really nice! Tonight they are taking his halloween pictures, I am really excited for those. His feedings were: 15 ml out of 40 ml, and 20 ml out of 40 ml. (my mom got to help with the feeding too which was really special.) And his weight was 5 lbs 13 ounces. AND TODAY JAYCEN GOT PUT INTO A CRIB!! YAY NO MORE SCARY LOOKING BED!

So today Mom had her eye surgery in Provo at 1:45 (She had to be there at 12:45 though) So they left the motel at 11:00. And Scott and I took Mikylee to her Aunt Becky's house to play with her cousin's Anya and Josy, and Scott and I went and visited Jaycen. I got to hold him for quite a while which was really nice. Then around 2:00 we went to pick Mikylee up and went to lunch. Then Mom and Dad arrived in Salt Lake again around 6:00 and we went to Carl's Jr for dinner, and then we went to the hospital and visited Jaycen (Grandma and Grandpa got to hold him for the first time today). JAYCEN IS A WEEK OLD TODAY!

Visiting Jaycen in SLC (Wednesday)

Today my Mom had an eye appointment in Provo, so when she was done there, her and my dad came to SLC so they could see Jaycen (And because she had to have eye surgery the next day) We decided to share a hotel room (and we will for 2 nights, because she has a follow up appointment on Friday). So it made it a lot nicer for visiting Jaycen (because Mikylee is only allowed to go into the NBICU 2 times a week for 15 minutes) So they could watch Mikylee while we visit Jaycen. And it was really nice when me and Scott went around 8:00 last night, because he was being such a character, I got the cutest pictures!

Jaycen - Day#8

October 29th (Wednesday), Today we were still in Salt Lake, and my Mom actually had an eye appointment today in Provo, so when she was finished their, her and my dad came to salt lake and got a hotel room with us. So that made it a lot nicer when it came to visiting Jaycen because then they could watch Mikylee while we seen Jaycen. My mom and dad both went and seen Jaycen today. And the last time when we went to visit Jaycen today (Around 8:00) we got to feed him for the first time tonight, and he was being such a little character!! Today his feedings was he took 25%. And today he weighed 5 lbs. 10 ounces.

Jaycen - Day#7

October 28th (Tuesday), today we finally headed back out to SLC to see Jaycen. We have missed him so much! His big Sister Mikylee colored a big Dumbo picture for him and bought him a blue puppy stuffed animal and a trick or treat pumpkin, and wrote in a halloween card for him, it was so sweet. But today he took 100% of his bottle at 2:00 p.m., then at 5:00 p.m. he only took 4 ml out of 20 ml. Then at 8:00 p.m. he took 2 ml out of 20 ml. And today he weighed 5 lbs 10 ounces. Today was the first time we got to see him with his eyes open!

So as hard as it was, we went home Saturday night from SLC, and left little Jaycen behind...Because we are in the process of moving, so we had to go home and get some stuff done. We had a lot (A TON) of help from Scott's dad, Scott's stepmom, Scott's sisters Cynthia and Melissa, Scott's mom, and My dad! Thanks everybody! But we weren't really finished with everything we needed to do, but we couldn't take it any longer and came to SLC today to see our little boy! He has already changed so much! It was so wonderful to finally see him with his eyes open. Hope you enjoy the pictures!

Baby Jaycen is Here!

On October 22nd (Wednesday), we were at my house packing stuff, my dad had just showed up to help us move the fridge, and I was walking in the door when all of a sudden my water broke, so I called the OB department at the hospital and they told me to get there right away. When I got there they tested the fluid and sure enough my water had broken, so they did an ultrasound to see how much fluid was left around him, and it was only 1.5 cm, and I was dilated to a 2. Well because I was only 34/35 weeks pregnant, the doctor wanted me to wait and deliver until monday if possible, so they had me laying flat (Totally uncomfortable) and tried to keep me from progressing any further, so after a long miserable sleepless night, at around 5:30 a.m. the nurse checked me again and I was dilated to 4 cm, and I was having contractions every 2 minutes, so the doctor said he was too afraid to lifeflight me for fear of me delivering on the flight, and had started to prepare for me having a baby that day. Well around noon, when they tested me again they said I was still only a 4 and that nothing was really changing, so they called lifeflight and they showed up 45 minutes later, (Now for those of you who know me, knows that was NOT GOOD! I HAVE NEVER BEEN IN A PLANE, AND NEVER INTENDED ON BEING IN ONE!) Well anyways, I got lifeflighted to the University of Utah Hospital, (Scott, My Mom, and Mikylee drove out) and I was still having really bad contractions, and once they gave me my epideral I was speedy through the whole delivery, in fact, Scott missed it by only 4 minutes, it was so sad! But I had Jaycen Scott Harrison at 4:59 PM on October 23rd (Thursday) and he weighed 5 lbs 15 oz (1 oz short of 6 lbs), and we dont know how long he is yet, he is currently in the Newborn Intensive Care Unit. But he is doing great, the doctor told us this morning that he is only in the ICU because he isn't mature enough to eat on his own, not for anything sick or life risking.So what a relief, and he is a little trooper, improving so much everyday!
